Rochester RC was based at Rochester Airport, but it has now shut down
Rochester RC was my local RC Shop.
I was very sad when Rochester RC Closed Down. Although the business was set up with very good intent by some great people, it all became too real too fast. In the UK, it is hard to support an RC business that is intent on running before it can walk, and this was the case with Rochester RC. Unfortunately, the core staff at Rochester RC suffered as much as their customers in the end.
Many of the staff have been left unemployed and out of pocket due to their investments in what was thought to be a fresh approach to the RC hobby in the UK. I still see some of the EX Staff at the Local RC track, and luckily, they are all trying to bounce back.
Unfortunately, it has been reported back to me through the grapevine that lots of customers were left out of pocket and out of product. This is another blow to our much loved hobby.
Rochester RC started in the best way that any hobby shop can. A group of friends with a shared love of RC got together and decided to offer a service to the world. Of course, there is always an ulterior motive to this. A business doing what you love is often the way to a happy life.

Rochester RC at Rochester Airport
The first Rochester RC shop unit was set up in one of the units at Rochester airport, but this was not conducive to retail traffic, as access was not great for the public. The store is now located in the units at the main entrance of the Airport. This is a great location and offers Lots of free parking. When you enter the shop, you are immediately presented with an amazing array of models to suit all genres of the RC hobby. Rochester RC is a well-presented modern facility, and the whole shop is stocked to the gills.
Not to mention that the RC Cafe is part of the shop, offering a wide array of snacks, treats, and refreshments. If there is anything an RC enthusiast likes as much as RC, it is food, so I was happy.
Staff at Rochester RC
The staff at Rochester RC are very helpful and normally will approach you and offer assistance. As anyone in this hobby knows, you do need helpful advice occasionally. I find their staff to be quite knowledgeable and friendly. If you are a beginner to this hobby, you should get to know these guys well; they will become the emergency service for your models when they break, and they will break. It does not matter how good your driving is or how tough your model is; you will crash and you will cause damage. Often, the staff of your local RC store becomes a lifeline as they can recommend upgrades and point out areas that need improvement on your vehicle.
In Conclusion
If you are looking for a friendly, knowledgeable well well-stocked RC shop with great views of an airport and a nice Cafe thrown into the mix, Rochester RC is for you. You will find pretty much everything you need here. In my opinion, this is the Best RC shop in the area. A wide range of spares and accessories is available on-site, and an even wider range from their online store.
