TJD Models Sutton at Hone Near Dartford Kent
On My RC journey, I have been lucky enough to get to know my Local RC Community quite well. Recently, I started working for TJD Models in Sutton at Hone, Kent through my sign business DMS Graphics Ltd. Initially, I was just a customer and liked going in to see the stock on offer. After working alongside the Medway RC raceway I was introduced to John at TJD and I designed a new shopfront sign and banners for them. TJD installed the signs themselves which, shows their commitment to the business.

TJD Models RC Treasure Stash
Walking through the doors of TJD Models is an overload of the senses for people in the RC Community. They have everything you need. The walls are heavily stocked with models from loads of the main manufacturers such as ARRMA, Traxxas, Team Associated, Losi, Team Corally, FTX, and Schumacher, just to mention a few. The ceiling is adorned with model Aeroplanes of all shapes and sizes, from extremely large detailed models to small foam-style training vehicles for the beginner.
Searching around the store you will find treasure in every corner. Remote-controlled cars are pilled all around the store and behind the counter is a large wall of kits and ready-to-run vehicles. Their paint selection is excellent and there are building materials to suit every aspect of the modeling world. The Back wall houses a wealth of Electronics, batteries, and Radio gear. There are more body shells available than in any other shop I have visited in the local area. The rear of the shop houses a complete wall of static models, paints, tools, and building materials. Everything that you require can be found at TJD Models.
Helpful Staff
The staff have great knowledge and I can truly say that I learned something new on each visit, especially from Rich who has had a very in-depth career within the RC World. You need someone like this at every RC Store as the information needed is detailed in this hobby. We all buy our models and then go back over and over again for upgrades and repairs. Staff with great knowledge are key to the development of your RC experience. If you want to know about planes and flying then talk to John Mason who is the owner of the shop he has many years of experience in flying and building models and he is a main pilot within the TJD Flying Display Team. Here is a clip of him flying his amazing P47D which still hangs from the ceiling today.
The size of this plane is amazing. I can’t imagine the thrill of flying the 1/4 Beast but, it looks like an amazing thrill. The TJD Flying team can be seen at various UK RC Shows.
I hope to start flying soon and I imagine I will find the floor on many occasions.
So what is the Verdict on TJD Models?
I give a massive thumbs up to TJD Models as this store has everything that is needed in the RC Hobby. We are lucky here in Kent to have quite a few decent Hobby shops and remote-controlled stores. TJD is the most heavily stocked RC Store in this area and they have loads of kits ready to go from the shop floor. You can almost guarantee that you will find a suitable model without the need to order from supplier stock. Their parts stock is extensive and we recently ordered parts to fix a Carisma M48s which came from the supplier within 3 days. To us, parts availability is very important as we tend to damage models when we are reviewing them.
With good knowledge and great stock levels, you get exactly what you need from TJD Models.
