Time to start upgrading the Arrma Fury Mega on a budget

The ARRMA Fury Mega was one of the stand-out trucks of 2024 but, no sooner than it was dropped on us and sold to death, ARRMA released the BLX version of this great remote control short-track truck. The cost of upgrading the Arrma Fury to meet the BLX Standard is around 2-3 Hundred pounds. This is the cost of another truck.

I am here to prove that you can Upgrade Your Arrma Fury Mega on a Budget.

What do you need to start upgrading the Arrma Fury?

The basic differences between the two trucks are

1/ Motor

2/ ESC

3/ Battery

4/ Stability Control

If you follow the ARRMA route to Upgrade then you will need the new Spektrum ESC and Motor but, if you wish to save some money then you just need to purchase third-party components.

Budget Components for Upgrading the Arrma Fury

Our Upgrades for the ARRMA Fury meant we needed to visit Aliexpress. If you know what you are looking for, there are many bargains to be found. We settled on a 2700kv 3650 Brushless motor for £15 and a Brushless 120a ESC. We were also going to replace the radio gear with a better version so, we purchased the Flysky GT-5 which comes with the receiver Gyro Combo. I have been using this radio gear with my touring car and I have found it to be very reliable and very responsive. Once the Gyro is setup then the Arrma Fury will have Stability Control. This Transmitter also offers mock ABS cracking which uses the motor to create an ABS feel under braking. It also has many more options than the stock radio.

We Purchased the Radio gear from Aliexpress for £42. You can get the Radio gear in the UK from Amazon for around £70-£80. find it HERE

There are also some great Motor and ESC Combos available check out this brushless combo

We have used this particular motor when upgrading the FTX Vantage and The Carsima M48s although we went for the cheapest decent option for the Fury. Once we have played with the Fury on the Budget setup, we may upgrade to something like this to give it more punch.

In Conclusion

Upgrading the Arrma Fury on a budget is a very good idea. he upgrades cost us less £100 but a 3s lipo battery will add around £40-£60 to the price. I did not include this in the initial costings because you will need to buy batteries if you get the Arrma Fury BLX anyway.

I like ZEEE batteries for Bashing and you can get them cheaply on Amazon HERE
